Job Brief:
The accounts receivable specialist will be responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues and generate weekly aging reports in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, invoicing, daily and month-end reporting, account reconciliation, and communication with vendors. The ideal candidate will be familiar with all accounting procedures and capable of managing daily financial transactions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
  • Update account status records and collection efforts.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve any past due payment issues.
  • Communicate with customers regarding billing discrepancies and questions.

· Proactively seek out opportunities to improve efficiencies in work structure, processes, and technology systems.

  • Special projects and ad hoc requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:

  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Proven working experience in accounting, as an accounts receivable clerk or accountant in a nonprofit setting.
  • Solid understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

· Strong organization skills with a strong initiative and sense of urgency, ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Data entry skills in QuickBooks online.
  • Strong computer skills: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software.

· Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Setting: Office

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person

Sign-on Bonus: $2500; paid as $1250 at 6 month; $1250 at 1 year

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
